03Appearance and Name
Shizuka is introduced as an invisible infant. Joseph uses makeup to make her face recognizable and buys her clothes and sunglasses. Her name's character, 静, suggests quietness or stillness; its alternate reading jo also connects her name with the family's JoJo motif.
04Stand: Achtung Baby
Achtung Baby makes Shizuka invisible and can extend that effect to surrounding objects. As an infant, she cannot consciously control it. When she becomes distressed, the area affected grows, sometimes hiding the ground or the person holding her. Objects can remain invisible after leaving that area, but the effect is not necessarily permanent: affected surroundings can return to normal when she calms down.
Invisibility does not remove the objects themselves or prevent them from producing sounds and smells. The Stand's name comes from U2's album Achtung Baby.
Stand parameters: Power E; Speed E; Range not assigned; Durability A; Precision E; Development Potential A.
05History
Story spoilers
Joseph and Josuke find Shizuka in Morioh but cannot locate her parents. When the invisible baby falls into water, Joseph cuts his wrist so his blood reveals the shape of her submerged body, allowing them to rescue her. His willingness to risk himself changes Josuke's view of his elderly father.
Shizuka later becomes involved in Rohan Kishibe's contest with Ken Oyanagi. Rohan uses Heaven's Door and her invisibility to influence the decisive rock-paper-scissors match. Joseph eventually adopts her and takes her into his family; her biological parents remain unidentified.
