03Background
Tama's transformation begins with a cat struck by the Arrow. After dying and being buried, he is reborn as a plant that retains his memories and personality. Stray Cat is therefore not a separate cat replacing Tama, but the form his Stand allows him to take after death.
04Appearance and Personality
His new body combines a flowerlike head with leaves, a stem and roots, while keeping catlike eyes, expressions and habits. He reacts to movement like a hunting cat and enjoys attention, but his rooted body limits his mobility. He particularly resents Shinobu, whom he remembers from the incident that killed him.
05Stand: Stray Cat
Stray Cat controls the air around him, compressing it into hard-to-see bubbles that can strike a target or cushion an incoming attack. He can also alter local air pressure and interfere with breathing. The bubbles are dangerous, but they can be punctured.
His plant form relies on light for its activity: without illumination, he becomes dormant. He is not a freely mobile long-range fighter, so Kira later carries him inside Killer Queen to aim and move his air attacks.
Stand parameters: Power B; Speed E; Range not assigned; Durability A; Precision E; Development Potential C.
06History
Story spoilers
After being pierced by the Arrow, Tama hides in the Kawajiri cellar. While Shinobu tries to chase him away, a broken glass bottle fatally injures him. Kira buries the cat in the garden, where he returns as Stray Cat. The reborn plant attacks Shinobu, prompting Kira to protect her.
During the final confrontation, Kira places Stray Cat in Killer Queen's abdomen and turns his compressed-air bubbles into invisible flying bombs. Okuyasu uses The Hand to erase the space between them and pull Stray Cat away, removing that advantage. After Kira's defeat, Stray Cat lives with the Nijimura family and gets along well with Okuyasu's father.
