Messina

After the Hell Climb Pillar trial, Lisa Lisa assigns him and Loggins to train Joseph and Caesar rigorously. During the final training test, Caesar's Hamon bubble formation forces Messina back; he concedes and allows Caesar to pass. He then realizes that Loggins has been killed and decides to prioritize protecting Lisa Lisa and the Red Stone of Aja. During the post-office sequence, he passes on the news that the Red Stone's delivery address is in St. Moritz, Switzerland, and the group pursues the train carrying it.

After Nazi troops intercept the train and Kars attacks, Joseph and Stroheim keep the Red Stone safe. Messina says they can cooperate with Stroheim as long as he does not throw his weight around. When the group finds the address of the abandoned hotel, Messina and Lisa Lisa separate the arguing Joseph and Caesar. When Caesar sets off alone to attack Kars's hideout, Messina is ordered to protect him. As he tries to stop Caesar, Wamuu ambushes him, cuts off his left hand, and drags him into the hotel, ending his participation in the fighting. Joseph and Lisa Lisa later find him unconscious and give him first aid, and Joseph carries him back. After Kars's defeat, the group mistakenly believes Joseph has died and holds a funeral. Messina supports the distraught Smokey Brown there. His later life is unknown.
