Jodio Joestar

Family and childhood

Jodio's mother, Barbara Ann Joestar, is the daughter of Joseph Joestar and Suzi Q. She raises Jodio and his older brother, Dragona, on her own in Honolulu, Hawaii. Both siblings awakened their Stands at a young age.

After the family moved from Atlantic City when Jodio was 11, he stood up for Dragona against school bullies. He used his Stand against the students and set their school bus on fire. Although he put out the fire after noticing a parrot, the students and teacher still suffered burns and were hospitalized. The bus company demanded compensation amounting to ten times the original loss. Jodio's father was dismissed from his job at an insurance company and left the family, leaving Barbara to raise the children alone. The siblings later met Meryl Mei Qi on the streets.

His belief in “mechanisms”

At 12, Jodio was paid for running errands for a neighbor. This helped shape his belief that reliably completing simple jobs and saying little could earn a person's trust and, eventually, make him rich. He works as a gofer for Meryl's gang.

The police and the diamond job

While the siblings are driving, police officers stop and harass them. An officer gropes Dragona, and Jodio uses November Rain to incapacitate the officers. Dragona uses their Stand to change the license plate and identification photograph, allowing them to escape.

Meryl assigns the group a job through her clothing store, Iko Iko: steal a 24-carat diamond worth six million dollars from a Japanese tourist's mansion. Usagi Alohaoe joins the operation. The day before the job, Jodio sees through a female DEA agent posing as a college student buying drugs and uses his Stand to destroy the drug evidence. A psychological consultation at school also suggests that he may have antisocial personality disorder.

Rohan and the lava rock

The four infiltrate the grounds of a villa in Kona, Hawaii. Usagi uses his Stand to create another surveillance camera, and they discover that their target is the manga artist Rohan Kishibe. Jodio suppresses his excitement as a fan and continues watching. After noticing volcanic photographs, a stray cat and two pieces of lava rock in the safe, he decides that the rocks are worth more than the diamond.

The group ambushes and restrains Rohan, then secures its escape by threatening to smash the lava rock. Rohan warns that the hunt has already begun. In a separate warning to Jodio, he tells him to keep the lava rock close: mechanisms will come to him and help him become rich, but he should be wary of his companions.

The pursuit and a new companion

In the jungle, the group is attacked by Stands belonging to cats. Usagi briefly leaves with the valuables, then returns in a vehicle and crashes it into a tree to free the others. Jodio is astonished by the conclusion that the lava rock draws valuable things toward it.

Before their flight, they test the rock at a luxury watch store and discover what appear to be the cats' remains. Paco Laburantes suggests returning the rock, but Jodio refuses, citing his agreement with Rohan and his belief that their pursuer would kill them anyway. Charming Man, disguised as Paco, ambushes them with a knife, takes the rock and seriously injures Dragona. Jodio retaliates with a downpour.

Jodio lures his opponent toward the shore, breaks his knife and drags him into the sea. Since November Rain's rain normally loses its special effect on contact with open water, Jodio must fight at close quarters underwater. Usagi pushes an inflatable raft into the downpour, and Jodio breathes air bubbles escaping from it. After the fight, Paco proposes bringing Charming Man into the group.

The HOWLER company

After the diamond is handed over, Charming Man says that they need to go to Hualalai volcano to find a larger lava rock. The land is privately owned by the HOWLER company, so Meryl orders the group to take control of it.

During their operation at the land registry office, Usagi, the receptionist and Dragona are successively attacked by the automatic Stand Bags' Groove. Jodio works out how it operates. With Smooth Operators holding a microscopic unit in place, he destroys it inside Dragona with a precisely controlled raindrop. The remaining threat inside Usagi cannot be located as easily.

The group goes to a hospital so that Usagi can undergo an MRI of his brain. After entering the intensive care unit by mistake, they meet the critically ill Sophie White. Her father, a congressman, is signing documents to seize HOWLER's land. Taking advantage of the lava rock's reaction, they have Dragona move the fingerprints needed to complete the authorization. The group is then attacked by Glory Days. Jodio kills its user, Bobby Jean, with a raindrop falling from the ceiling. Lulu's distress causes Bags' Groove to deactivate, freeing Usagi from its attack. The group takes Lulu with them.

Debt collection and the yacht

At the intensive care unit, they obtain documents concerning a 38-billion-dollar debt from Yokohama, an employee of Dolphin Bank. Realizing that the bank and HOWLER are working together, Jodio decides to take the money. Meryl gives the group seven days to use the lava rock to collect the debt from Hacca Howler.

They board a yacht to negotiate. Howler offers a private settlement of 40 million dollars in 20 boxes, but Charming Man presses him to offer the land on the northern slope as collateral instead. The lava rock, concealed behind Dragona's brooch, deteriorates and crumbles. When Howler points a gun at Dragona, Jodio tells Dragona to secretly alter the printing on the banknotes, making them counterfeit, and move the lava rock.

Howler fires his gun and searches Dragona without finding it, then flies into a rage. The yacht catches fire and police vessels approach, while Jodio continues to pressure him with the claim that no one can resist the flow of money. As the group leaves, Jodio is surrounded by the money boxes and a mysterious Stand attacks through the gaps, injuring his leg. He fights his way free and realizes that an enemy Stand user aboard the yacht knows about the lava rock.
