02Appearance

Howler is a man with an athletic build and a young looking face. He has shoulder-length hair that is tied back. His hair is voluminous at the top styled in a jelly roll or elephant trunk, albeit with the front gap similar to a heart shape rather than a circle. Howler's beard looks like rectangular strips with gaps in between, going from the sides of his ears to his chin. The top strips of the beard are longer and angled toward his eyes.↗↗

He wears a light short sleeve shirt with notch collars, slightly exposing his upper chest. The shirt has a thick dark outline running down vertically from his collars to above the edge of his shirt, with the lines connecting horizontally at the back. His sleeves also have a dark line going across above the edge. He pairs the shirt with light shorts that have checkered hems.↗

03Personality

Hacca Howler is a narcissistic businessman who indulges in a luxurious lifestyle, frequently flaunting his wealth and power. He takes pride in his family's legacy, refusing to surrender the land on the Hualalai north slope he inherited from his ancestor. He favors top-quality goods, knowing which areas of Hokkaido produce the best kombu and claiming he rides only in Rolls-Royce with the starlight headliner when being picked up or dropped off from airports.↗↗↗↗↗↗↗

Howler openly acts unethically, believing that his wealth could solve any problem, and admitting that his own actions of committing land fraud are villainous. He treats affection as something money can purchase, boasting that he could "buy all of Hokkaido" for his flight attendants and arguing that the environment would be protected better if he bought the land, despite wanting to build resorts on it. Later, he attempts to bribe the fake Dolphin Bank employees with $40 million each to erase his $30 billion debt.↗↗↗

Howler is mistrustful of others and has an explosive temper, especially when he is inconvenienced. He acts condescendingly to even his acquaintances and employees. For example, he rudely demands that Yokohama and the Dolphin Bank employees leave from his private immigration gate so that he could enter Hawaii, and constantly tells Key West to do her job. When his driver is forced to stop on the road due to protesters, Howler furiously fires him on the spot and immediately calls to have the entire public road purchased to make it his private property. He is openly contemptuous of the public and reporters, barking at his company's protesters to get out of his way.↗↗↗↗↗

04Abilities

Stand

Howler wields Eclipse Eight, which has a currently unknown ability. It manifests alongside mist.↗

05Story

Background

When Hacca was a child, there was a sudden change in his family's flow of money due to the Lava Rock 's involvement. One day, Hacca's grandfather called the boy to his side to watch TV with him. He showed Hacca a deed of their land, which he took the opportunity to make to have a legal basis on the ownership of the farmland.↗↗↗

As a teenager, Hacca was once caught by his grandfather while spending time in the bathtub with a girl. The girl fled in embarrassment, but his grandfather was unbothered by Hacca's indulgence. Instead, he took the opportunity to lecture him about the privileges and dangers of their family's wealth. He explained that while the Howlers were then at the height of prosperity and power, this brightness also cast long and dark shadows.↗↗

Howler travels to Hokkaido, Japan in his private jet, where he visits an onsen with his flight attendants and purchases the highest-quality kombu dashi.↗↗

Lulu and Agent Bobby Jean's Orders

On the flight back to Honolulu, Howler fools around with his flight attendants. He has them lie in his lap while he drips different flavors of dashi stock on their tongues. Howler offers to buy all of Hokkaido, Japan for them when he gets the chance, and wants to go to an onsen again with them. One of the women tells him that they'll be preparing to land soon, another tells him to fasten his seatbelt, and the third closes up the zipper on his shorts.↗

Howler then calls someone at his company, informing them of his return to the head office and urgently requests to find Bobby Jean. He suspects the situation might be related to the Lava Rock. Howler eventually manages to call Bobby Jean, who hands the phone to Lulu. Howler tells Lulu that this call is for her ears only. He instructs her to recover the Lava Rock from their targets and help Bobby eliminate the gang who were interested in HOWLER's land deeds.↗↗

On the way to the parking lot, Hacca curses at the people who protest against him. He suddenly notices the presence of three individuals standing beside him. They are Key West, a lawyer; Laem Chabang, a police officer; and Ningbo, a firefighter. Their friend Bobby Jean has died, something having shot through his skull. Hacca tells them to look for Lulu, who has disappeared from the hospital without a trace, and promises a reward, telling them that their job is just to protect his interests.↗↗

The Land Exchange Operation

While resting on his megayacht later, Howler receives the visit of Jodio, Dragona, and Charming Man, who are impersonating Yokohama and other Dolphin Bank employees. Hacca brings the group to a room in the lower decks of his yacht to negotiate with them. At first, he tries to bribe the trio with $40,000,000 in cash, but the group persists.↗↗↗

Key West then reports that several fireboats are approaching the megayacht. Hacca's earlier shots have set fire to the yacht's electrical system. With police boats surrounding them, Charming Man and Jodio pressure Hacca further, emphasizing that he's running out of time to protect his assets and must sign the land exchange immediately. Key West protests that he shouldn't sign it.↗↗↗↗

Going to the upper deck, Hacca discovers, to his consternation, the corpses of two FBI agents, "Yokohama" struggling with another agent, and localized rainfall on his yacht. He realizes he is dealing with Stand users and begins to lose trust in everyone. When he receives a call from Laem Chabang 's phone, he refuses to listen and, as a result, misses Lulu's warning. He decides he will not sign the land-exchange documents.↗↗↗↗

Act Two

Nine months have passed since Howler disappeared from his megayacht. The O'ahu land exchanged for the north slope of Hualalai is now in Howler's possession. However, Howler has been hiding since then and cannot be found by anyone, including the FBI or the military.↗↗

Allies

Lulu: Howler is the boss of Lulu and suspected by Lulu to be her father, since he raised her along with his company's employees. Unlike his other employees, he trusts Lulu to handle the situation with retrieving the Lava Rock back from Jodio Joestar and his allies. He speaks to her affectionately, asking whether she's tired, and referring to her as "Lulu-chan". After she is taken hostage by the group, he tasks his other employees with finding her.↗↗↗↗

Bobby Jean: Bobby Jean works for Howler. Although Howler relies on him for handling the elimination of Jodio and the others, he does not trust Bobby with recovering the Lava Rock, explicitly telling Lulu that she has to be the one to find it.↗↗

Key West: Despite not remembering hiring her or her associates, he is shown to trust them enough to task them with investigating Paco Laburantes and retrieving Lulu. When Hacca's fear is exposed by Laem Chabang, she encourages him to be "imposing" and to not "fear or cower". She stays by Hacca's side during the investigation and urges him not to sign the land transfer documents. However, upon learning about the Lava Rock, she plans to betray him with Laem Chabang. Hacca thinks of her as a terrible lawyer and constantly yells at her to do her job.↗↗↗↗

Laem Chabang: Her nematodes expose Hacca's own fear of her and her associates, though she is still sent out with Ningbo to investigate. Laem Chabang's motivations involve money alone, and after learning about the Lava Rock, she opts to double cross Hacca with Key West.↗↗

Hacca's Grandfather: Hacca and his grandfather had a close relationship. His grandfather told him about the volcanic rock and its power, and his future responsibility to maintain the HOWLER Company in the future.↗↗
