03Character Background
His name comes from the latter half of the British rock band's name Dire Straits.
04Abilities
Hamon
A student of Tonpetty, he combines Hamon with martial arts, including kicking techniques. His special scarf is woven from the intestinal fibers of thirty thousand Satiporoja beetles. Its exceptionally high conductivity allows it to disperse Hamon. His adoptive daughter Lisa Lisa later inherits this fighting style.
Vampiric Abilities
After using the Stone Mask to become a vampire, he regains his youth and acquires a powerful body, but becomes vulnerable to sunlight and Hamon. Hamon now harms his own vampiric body, preventing him from using it safely as he once did. His knowledge of Hamon nevertheless helps him defend against it. His main powers include superhuman strength, ageless immortality with extreme regeneration, and Space Ripper Stingy Eyes. This last technique expels fluid from his eyes like high-pressure water jets, giving it great penetrating power. It briefly blinds him, but his sight recovers.

06Story
Story spoilers
Phantom Blood
As Tonpetty's disciple, he accompanies his master to support Jonathan's group, finding that Zeppeli has already died and witnessing Dire's death in battle. He fights the zombies alongside Tonpetty and destroys four at once by conducting Hamon through a chandelier. After the battle, he sees Jonathan and Erina off.
Battle Tendency
After Jonathan's death, he raises the baby Erina rescued and teaches her Hamon. He later succeeds Tonpetty as the leader of the Hamon users. As an old man afraid of aging, he murders the members of an expedition investigating the Pillar Men and Stone Masks in Mexico, seriously wounds Speedwagon, and becomes a vampire. Seeking to silence Joseph, he pursues him through a fight involving submachine-gun fire, a mirror trick that counters Space Ripper Stingy Eyes, his scarf dispersing Hamon, regeneration after being blown apart by grenades, the taking of a female reporter as a hostage, and a duel on a bridge. Joseph finally defeats him with Hamon. After revealing information about the Pillar Men, he kills himself with his own Hamon.
