Kosaku Kawajiri

Kosaku represents an ordinary person unexpectedly caught in a conflict between Stand users. His life is financially strained and his family is emotionally distant. Those everyday difficulties make the later changes in his behavior noticeable, even before Hayato understands that a murderer has replaced him.

The real Kosaku is a dark-haired office worker. He is quiet and hardworking, but Shinobu finds their marriage dull. He and Hayato are not close. Kosaku met Shinobu while she was attending junior college, and they married after she became pregnant.

The household struggles with expenses and debts. Kosaku's familiar routines, tastes and habits become important after his death, because Kira cannot reproduce all of them. Hayato notices the inconsistencies that the adults around him overlook.

While fleeing Josuke Higashikata and his companions, Kira chooses Kosaku because their builds are similar. He drags him into Aya Tsuji's Cinderella salon, kills him and forces Aya to exchange their facial features and fingerprints. This is a physical disguise, not a transfer of Kosaku's memories or personality.

Kira then returns to Kosaku's home and workplace under the dead man's name. Shinobu is initially attracted to the apparent improvement in her husband's confidence and affection, while Hayato becomes suspicious. The real Kosaku never returns, even after Kira is defeated.

The real Kosaku is not shown using a Stand. Killer Queen belongs to Yoshikage Kira, including when Kira is dressed and named as Kosaku. Treating the disguise as a separate Stand user would confuse the victim with his murderer.

The playable fighter commonly called Kosaku Kawajiri in Eyes of Heaven and All-Star Battle R represents Kira using this identity, rather than the ordinary salaryman. Illustrations of the later Kosaku appearance should be read with the same distinction in mind.
