03Character Profile

Erina comes from the English countryside. She and Jonathan are fond of one another from childhood, and she takes the surname Joestar when they marry. Jonathan dies in his confrontation with Dio during their honeymoon. Pregnant at the time, Erina escapes with the baby who will become Lisa Lisa and later gives birth to Jonathan's posthumous son, George Joestar II. After her son's early death and her daughter-in-law's forced departure, she devotes particular affection to her grandson Joseph.
Erina's contribution is practical as well as emotional. Working as a nurse at her father's hospital, she treats Jonathan's injuries after the mansion fire. She is not one of the story's supernatural fighters; her care for Jonathan, rescue of the infant Elizabeth, and upbringing of Joseph connect the first two generations of the adventure.
04History
Story spoilers
Erina falls in love with Jonathan after he rescues her as a child. Dio's interference drives them apart and sparks conflict between Jonathan and Dio. After moving away, she does not reunite with Jonathan until adulthood, when they marry. Dio attacks their honeymoon ship, and Jonathan gives his life so that she can escape. Erina survives with the infant Lisa Lisa and gives birth to George II. George II later marries Lisa Lisa, and their son is Joseph. After George II is killed and Lisa Lisa becomes a wanted woman for avenging him, Erina raises Joseph on her own. She dies in 1950, surrounded by her loved ones, at the age of eighty-one.
