02Appearance

At his Christmas party, Rossi wears a sophisticated three-piece suit and carries himself with the airs of a polished gentleman. Despite his charming appearance, a snake-like glint is reflected in his eyes.↗↗

03Personality

Rossi publicly acts as a benevolent figure, referring to his supporters as family and adopting a boy from an orphanage for appearances. However, his friendly demeanor masks a manipulative and sadistic personality. He has a history of drug use and maintaining ties with criminal organizations, including rival gangs to Passione.↗↗↗

Rossi is also a show off, flaunting his wealth; his mansion's terrace offers a view of the sea, his floors are made of processed Venetian glass, he has two bronze lion statues guarding the entrance hall, and the interior is filled with magnificent paintings and ceramics, adding to the mansion's elegance. In reality, the paintings and ceramics are stolen goods from small art museums and antique shops under Passione's jurisdiction. He has a bad habit of concealing his crimes in plain sight, deliberately designing an electromagnet-locked safe room in an easily accessible area of his home, storing his drugs and evidence of other crimes in there.↗↗↗

04Story

SPOILERS

Background

Rossi was once a professional architect and designed his mansion himself. He later transitioned into politics and became a city council member in Naples. Beneath his public persona as a philanthropic politician, he maintained secret connections to organized crime and engaged in illicit activities such as bribery, secret funding, and drug use. In order to hide evidence of his misdeeds, he constructed a hidden room in his mansion without a key, locking it using electromagnets.↗↗↗

In 1992, Rossi assaulted a woman while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. On a snowy day outside a bar, he dragged her and her son Gennaro to an abandoned building, tortured the woman to death, and forced her child to watch, threatening to do the same to him. This traumatic event deeply scarred Gennaro, planting the seed for his eventual revenge.↗↗

In 1999, Rossi went to Gennaro's orphanage and adopted him, aware of who he was. In December, he got into trouble with a gangster he had been on friendly terms with before, and decided to flee to Brazil. However, he lied to his family and friends that he would be traveling to Brazil to "conduct a long-term inspection."↗↗↗

Risotto Nero Osserva

Rossi becomes the target of an assassination ordered by Passione 's boss due to his involvement with a rival gang and interference in the mafia's expansion into industrial waste management. Risotto Nero assigns himself to carry out the hit and infiltrates Rossi's lavish Christmas party, which Rossi is hosting to introduce Gennaro as his adopted son before his departure to Brazil. Feeling that the mansion is too hot, an elderly woman tries finding a restroom to fix her makeup.↗↗↗

Later during the party, Rossi introduces his newly adopted son to the guests, saying that Gennaro is from an orphanage that he contributed to. They host a tombola game together. As Rossi theatrically draws numbered tiles, he jokes about the meanings of the numbers to engage the crowd.↗↗↗

Risotto later returns to the mansion at 9 PM and deduces that Rossi was locked in the room behind the Unopenable Door. He finds Gennaro there and realizes the trick; Gennaro turned the indoor heating to full power throughout the mansion so that when the tree was powered on, the breaker would trip and cause a power outage.↗↗

Rossi's assassination is reported as a kidnapping and murder by a gangster who had a dispute with him. His misdeeds are publicly revealed when the hidden evidence in his safe room is uncovered, destroying his reputation.↗↗
