02Appearance

Laem Chabang is a short dark-skinned woman who is bald aside from a light colored ponytail. Her face has two tattoos above and below her left eye of large swallows with dark and light patterns carrying a flower in their beaks. She wears round half-rim sunglasses with the rims on the bottom.↗

Her outfit consists of a collared jumper dress with a column of four rectangular buttons on the top and bottom. A prominent "FURY" logo is across her chest, split between the letters on either side of her dress. Beneath it, she wears a long-sleeve shirt with crisscrossed laces running the length of her arms. The dress ends with a semicircle opening with vertical lines on both sides of it. On the side, she has a gun holster. Her legs are exposed, but she wears knee pads with spikes on the top and bottom.↗

03Personality

Befitting her occupation as a police officer, Laem Chabang is an inquisitive and formal yet authoritarian woman. When she first meets Meryl Mei Qi to inquire about Paco Laburantes, Laem Chabang initially adopts a polite and professional demeanor. However, this is merely a facade; she possesses sharp psychological insight and quickly discards proper protocol when she senses vulnerability. Relying on the reaction from her nematodes, Laem Chabang leverages fear and intimidation to gain the upper hand, showing no hesitation in employing extreme measures once her suspicions are confirmed.↗↗↗↗↗

She has a cynical view of relationships and a general distrust of others, asserting that she has no boyfriend because they "always lie." A childhood incident where her teacher stole class funds and framed her for it left her bitter and obsessed with uncovering lies, viewing trusting others as a potential "pitfall." She mocks those who attempt to deceive her with a playful, callous demeanor, often giggling or repeatedly saying "no" to shut down opposition. Her short temper flares when she is frustrated, causing her to resort to screaming threats and profanity, such as holding a gun to Lulu's head.↗↗↗↗↗

04Abilities

Stand

Lyin' Eyes allows Laem Chabang to control adrenaline-sensing nematodes that she raises as pets and keeps attached to her sunglasses. The nematodes work as a polygraph to detect if a person is being untruthful.↗↗

05Story

Background

When Laem Chabang was an elementary school student and once brought her lunch money to her teacher, the teacher claimed that the envelope was missing the full amount. Money was also missing from her classmates' envelopes. Laem Chabang realized that her teacher was the one stealing the money, but she got blamed for it instead. She tried telling others, but nobody believed her.↗↗

As an adult, Laem Chabang becomes a police officer. At some point, she gets into a relationship with Key West. She is hired by Hacca Howler to work for HOWLER Company, though Howler doesn't remember her. She was friends with Bobby Jean and investigated his murder at Pearl General Hospital together with Key West and Ningbo.↗↗

200 Balloons and Lyin' Eyes

Laem Chabang is introduced to Hacca Howler by Key West, who informs him of the mysterious circumstances behind Bobby's death. They question Howler about what Bobby was investigating, but he refuses to tell them, telling them that their job is only to protect HOWLER's interests. He orders them to track down Lulu since she went missing, so they agree to either look for her or the enemies. Laem shows Howler the nematodes in her sunglasses while Key explains their ability before they leave.↗↗

Laem Chabang and Ningbo follow their lead up to McKinley High School where Paco Laburantes used to go. They find Meryl Mei Qi at her office and try to inquire about Paco's whereabouts. Meryl Mei plays dumb and sends a mass text to all her students hiding a warning to her gang, then tries to block off Laem Chabang's insistence on getting Paco's address. Laem Chabang's nematodes sense that Meryl Mei is afraid, which raises Laem's suspicion.↗↗↗

Laem Chabang's Investigation

Under torture, Meryl Mei reveals that IKO IKO is her hideout, prompting Laem Chabang and Ningbo to bring her to the boutique. As the three enter the shop, Meryl sits silently in handcuffs while Laem and Ningbo search the premises. Upon entering Meryl's office, Laem notes the apparent absence of anyone else. She shows Meryl a recording of her previous interrogation, asking again where Paco is.↗↗

Paco suddenly appears and punches Ningbo in the face, sending him flying. Laem attempts to intervene by aiming her gun at Paco but is forced to retreat into the basement when Usagi Alohaoe fires at her. She barricades herself inside with Yokohama, prompting concern from Usagi that she will report their activities to Howler. However, Meryl Mei expresses confidence that Laem, motivated more by profit than duty, will remain silent in hopes of gaining a share of Howler's fortune.↗↗↗

Laem sends Key West photos of mansions and asks which one she would prefer. When Key chides her for picking a mansion located on a hazard map, Laem jokingly apologizes and sends a laughing sticker, claiming to kill the realtor for hiding info. Key reassures Laem that their plan to acquire the Lava Rock will be successful. Laem then decides to interrogate Lulu further, telling her to sit on the sofa.↗↗↗

Post-Defeat

After Team Jodio 's land exchange operation concludes, Laem Chabang is secretly brought to a hospital on a stretcher alongside Key West and Yokohama.↗↗
