Villagers of Paradise

A group of around thirty people and livestock controlled by the Gleanings of Paradise, supposedly led by Shozo Yaginuma. Under the wheat's influence, they reject electricity, gas, and water, and quietly cultivate the wheat fields by hand. They also stand guard outside visitors' sleeping quarters, to prevent them from discovering the truth about the wheat. When Rohan and Yo Utsurogi discover Toshiya Utsurogi 's state after prolonged exposure to the wheat, the villagers form a mob and attempt to force the meddlers to eat the wheat. Rohan uses Heaven's Door to make them burn the wheat, eventually breaking its hold over them.
