02Appearance
Ninomori is a tall, muscular, and imposing teenager with a heavily built frame. His hairstyle is short and curly, with a rounded top. He has thick eyebrows, round eyes, a prominent nose, and a large mouth.↗
During normal school hours, he wears a dark gakuran with a tall, stiff collar. When participating in his club activities, he wears a traditional kendo uniform consisting of a keikogi and hakama, along with bōgu armor.↗
03Personality
Ninomori initially appears as an aggressive but gullible student who falls victim to B.T. 's rigged gambling tricks. Despite his imposing, thuggish exterior, he is easily outsmarted and swindled by B.T.'s sleight of hand.↗↗
He is also highly stubborn and competitive, refusing to accept defeat. After losing to B.T. in the coin-guessing game, his immediate reaction is to double down and demand a rematch with higher stakes. He also accuses Date of deliberately striking him in the ear and, seeking revenge, violently threatens him. Ninomori possesses a strong sense of pride and can be cooperative when he shares a common enemy with someone. When B.T. approaches him with an extortion plot to punish Date, Ninomori is astonished by B.T.'s cunning and eagerly agrees to help.↗↗↗
Whenever he is extremely angry or fired up, he often shouts his signature catchphrase, "Mukadotama!" (ムカドタマー!). The phrase is a portmanteau of "mukatsuku" (むかつく), which means "to be pissed off," and "dotama" (どたま), which is a vulgar slang for "head", literally translating to "pissed-off head!"↗↗
04Story
SPOILERS
Pilot: The Overturned Guilt Incident
Ninomori approaches B.T. and Koichi Mugikari on a set of stairs at school, challenging B.T. to a coin-guessing game. B.T. presents two closed fists, and Ninomori struggles to guess which hand holds a 100-yen coin. When Ninomori guesses that it is in his right hand, B.T. smugly reveals the coin in his other hand.↗
Frustrated, Ninomori demands they play again, this time betting 200 yen. B.T. completely brushes him off, stating he only plays once a day. Ninomori angrily vows to win next time and drops his 100-yen coin as he walks away. Koichi scolds B.T. for his cheating, and B.T. reveals that he uses a magician's technique called "palming" to hide the coin outside of his fingers, ensuring that whoever challenges him will always guess wrong so B.T. can continuously swindle them out of their money.↗↗
The Prank Corpse Incident
During a kendo practice session, Ninomori spars against Date, the highly popular kendo club captain and student council president. Date strikes Ninomori exceptionally hard on the ear. Ninomori is furious, accusing Date of targeting his ear deliberately, though Date defensively claims it was an accident. Before Ninomori can retaliate, the kendo instructor breaks up the fight and rebukes Ninomori for speaking that way in a temple.↗
B.T., who also holds a grudge against Date for making fun of him earlier and being close with Aiko Hyodo, approaches the angry Ninomori with a revenge plot. B.T. teaches Ninomori a magic trick to temporarily stop his pulse by squeezing a ping-pong ball tightly in his armpit. Astounded by the trick, Ninomori eagerly agrees to participate. However, he suddenly feels dizzy for a second and stumbles, nearly passing out.↗
Ninomori challenges Date to a second bout, deliberately provoking the captain by hitting away a charm necklace Date was wearing. Enraged due to it being his grandfather's memento, Date attempts to mercilessly strike Ninomori. However, Ninomori slips before the hit could land and hits his head on a rock. B.T. puts his hand behind Ninomori's head, showing that there is blood, although it is actually red ink they prepared beforehand.↗
After Date leaves to gather the money, B.T. and Koichi wait for Ninomori to get up, but he remains completely motionless. B.T. then checks his pulse again and notices his dilated pupils, assuming that Ninomori actually died. Date returns with a crowd of students and teachers and, realizing he might be able to escape blame, accuses B.T. and Koichi of murdering Ninomori by tripping him. B.T. then finds the charm that Ninomori ripped off Date's neck. B.T.↗
Terrified by the "curse", Date panics and still tries to deny that it was his fault, claiming that it was just an accident. As an ambulance arrives, Ninomori wakes up and wonders why everyone is being so loud and whether they got the money. The doctor later confirms that Ninomori had suffered a light contusion above his ear from the kendo match, causing a temporary loss of consciousness about three hours after the blow. Ninomori is hospitalized for treatment after.↗↗
Cool Shock Old B.T.
Ninomori's catchphrase Dagnabbit! (ムカドタマー! Mukadotamā! Mukadotamā!) is referenced by other characters in the Cool Shock Old B.T. series. In the first chapter, a young woman working for Manabu 's "Outlaw Guys" scam company angrily thinks the phrase after seeing how rich Koichi Mugikari became, possibly implying that she is one of Ninomori's relatives or descendants. In the second chapter, Koichi angrily says it after learning about the bomb on their ship.↗↗↗
The Wicked Boy vs. Makeup Girl Incident
A slightly older Ninomori goes to London for a high school trip alongside B.T. and Koichi. At the British Museum, Ninomori gambles with B.T. by playing their coin flip game. Ninomori guesses that the 100-yen coin is in B.T.'s right hand, but it ends up being in his left due to B.T. rigging the game with his palming technique.↗
As punishment for his loss, B.T. makes Ninomori set off the museum's alarm by touching a mummy on display. The museum's security guards surround Ninomori, who says it was an accident and apologizes by saying "sorry" in English. Internally, he curses B.T. for making him do that on their school trip.↗↗
