Liberio Betti (リベリオ・ベッティ, Riberio Betti) is a primary antagonist featured in " Prima che il Gelato si Sciolga ", a short story based on Vento Aureo included in the novel I Testamenti Cremisi.
He is a 54-year-old former executive of a Naples gang who, after being forced into Passione 's ranks, recently defected. His betrayal makes him the target of an assassination by Sorbet and Gelato.

Having been a powerful gangster, he despises his subsequent ten-year subjugation under Passione, viewing himself as nothing more than a "pet dog." This deep-seated resentment drives him to defect, in a final attempt to reclaim the honor he lost. Despite his criminal background, Liberio shows genuine concern for Alice Bianchi, whom he believes to be an innocent civilian. He attempts to end their relationship to protect her from the dangers of his life, unaware that she is a Passione member.↗↗↗↗

Background
Liberio Betti was once an executive in a prominent gang that held power in Naples. When Passione rose to supremacy, his organization was crushed. While his comrades who resisted were brutally killed, Liberio and a few other executives survived by submitting to Passione's rule. For the next ten years, he lived as a subordinate within the organization, a life he viewed as a humiliating existence. He then defected from Passione, fully aware that this would make him a target for assassination.↗↗↗
Prima che il Gelato si Sciolga
About a month later, Liberio becomes the target of an assassination order from the Boss, with Sorbet and Gelato assigned to the mission. He arranges to meet Alice at a secluded trattoria with the intention of ending their relationship to keep her safe.↗↗
He arrives at the restaurant and tells Alice that they must stop seeing each other for her own good. When she questions whether he is a gangster, he explains his past and his miserable life under Passione. Before he could finish confessing how he feels about Alice, he is suddenly shot twice in the temple by Sorbet, who is sniping from a car over fifty meters away. Paralyzed and dying, Liberio realizes Passione has found him.↗↗
