Lauper (ローパー, Rōpā) is the main antagonist of the first chapter of Gorgeous Irene.
She is the ruthless and greedy crime lord of Swing Town. She violently eliminates anyone who disrespects her or poses a threat, causing her to become the target of an assassination contract accepted by Irene Rapona.

02Appearance
Lauper is an exceptionally tall and imposing woman with a heavily muscular build. She has dark, elaborately styled hair that features a massive, sweeping bang curving over her forehead. She wears a unique, crown-like headpiece adorned with spheres and rods.↗
Her face is heavily made up with inconsistent geometric markings, including dots on her cheeks, forehead, and chin, as well as a square-shaped marking that extends across her eyes, nose, and forehead. She also wears large, spherical earrings. Her outfit consists of a low-cut, corset-like bodice, shoulder pads with interwoven metallic tubing, a skirt, and high heels.↗
03Personality
Lauper is a violent, greedy, and cruel crime boss. She displays a grotesque lack of empathy, casually eating a brain with a fork while her gang tortures a captive. She is also shown to be particularly cruel to animals.↗↗↗
Lauper is vain and insecure, being highly self-conscious about her large and muscular physique. When a renowned tailor politely explained he needed to order special materials because her dress size was unusually large, Lauper interpreted this as a grave insult, licks his cheek, and then tosses him to a window, making it shatter.↗↗
Despite her immense physical strength and dominance, Lauper is cautious and paranoid about assassination attempts. To protect herself from disguised hitmen, she surrounds herself exclusively with women as her personal servants. However, this paranoia ironically proves to be her undoing when she hires Irene, who was disguised as an elderly woman.↗↗↗

Background
At some point in the past, Lauper arrived in Swing Town and assassinated the previous mafia boss, taking over his empire. She dismantled the traditional underworld order, replacing it with chaotic and hyper-violent crime. Because of her, Swing Town's crime rate skyrocketed; drugs flooded into local schools, and innocent bystanders were regularly killed.↗
In one instance, she demanded a tailor make her a dress overnight. When the tailor nervously explained he couldn't because her body was too large and required specially ordered fabric, Lauper was deeply offended. She licked his cheek and then tossed him to a window, making it shatter. He threatened her by claiming his reporter friend would expose her crimes in the local newspaper. She then chewed her "Special Gum," shaped it into a blade, and spat it through the tailor's throat, killing him.↗↗
Confrontation with Irene
Irene infiltrates Lauper's mansion disguised as an old woman, taking advantage of Lauper's rule to only hire the elderly and young girls. Irene acts as a servant, gaining access to the gang's armory and secretly replacing all their bullets with blanks.↗↗
Ten days later, Lauper's henchwomen capture the young man who hired Irene. Lauper tortures him mercilessly while casually eating, forcing him to confess that he hired an assassin. When he reveals the assassin is a young girl, Lauper is initially amused but demands to know where she is. The man's confession prompts Irene to drop her disguise. Irene wipes off her old-lady makeup, revealing her true form as "Gorgeous Irene."↗↗
Lauper commands her gang to shoot Irene, but the guns fire harmless blanks. Enraged, Lauper revs up her massive 80kg chainsaw and attacks Irene directly. However, Irene dodges each swing using her Danse Macabre technique. She then strips off her dress as Lauper continues attacking. She effortlessly catches the blade of the chainsaw between her bare hands, shocking Lauper. Lauper spits her Special Gum toward Irene's head, but she flexibly dodges it.↗↗

Personality
Under her rule, the once-peaceful Swing Town was transformed into a lawless wasteland where the mafia dictates order, drugs are freely sold in schools, and innocent people including children and the elderly are frequently murdered in gang conflicts. She buries several cats in pots with only their heads sticking out, and specifically states she hates cats before squeezing a kitten to death after it scratches her finger.↗↗↗
