02Appearance
Andre appears as a young man of average height, notably having aligned freckles that cover his face. Andre has shoulder-length hair, styled into a mullet, which peeks out of a dotted cap. Andre's cap has multiple ribbons attached to it.↗
He wears a long-sleeved dotted shirt with a target imprinted on the chest. He wears a vest, cargo shorts, dotted pants, and a belt that he uses to asphyxiate himself.↗
03Personality
Andre shares his family's greed and willingness to murder competitors to secure the race's prize money. He is boastful, showing off his nose and ear tricks to L.A. while refusing to explain them, and confidently declaring that Gyro 's Steel Ball cannot reach him.↗↗
He resents Johnny and Gyro for hesitating to help him after his venomous bite, even though he approached them as part of an ambush. Once the deception is exposed, he threatens to tear out Gyro's organs. Andre also laughs with his father at their enemies' predicament despite his own severe injury.↗↗↗
Andre practices erotic asphyxiation, claiming that he habitually lets women strangle him and has invented his own method of anesthesia through self-strangulation. He boasts about the experience while warning Johnny and Gyro not to imitate it. Andre acts tough at first, but becomes frightened as his wound worsens.↗↗↗↗
04Abilities
Stand
Benjamin states that Andre is the most talented in the family. Tomb of the Boom 2 gives Andre control over iron through magnetism. Contact with his blood can expose another person to the family's magnetic effect, causing metal to gather on their body and drawing affected targets together. Benjamin exploits this by shooting through Andre's wound to splash blood onto Johnny.↗↗↗↗
Personal Skills
Andre demonstrates that he can flatten his nostrils without touching them. He can also push his ears into his ear canals, similar to Giorno Giovanna.↗↗
05Story
SPOILERS
Background
According to Benjamin, the family acquired Tomb of the Boom 1 2 3 while prospecting for a mine in a desert mountain avoided by the local Indigenous people. Mountain Tim later identifies this area as a Devil's Palm. Benjamin says that the mother of Andre and L.A left the family and "became a whore".↗↗↗↗
Steel Ball Run
Andre enters the Steel Ball Run with his father and younger brother. The family plans to occupy the first three places and collect their combined prize money. During the 1st Stage, the family murders Mark Becker, David Hagen, and Paul Lukather, three otherwise unrelated competitors whose bodies are discovered together with their intestines stretched behind them. Their deaths result from the magnetic attraction caused by Tomb of the Boom 1 2 3, which draws the victims together.↗↗↗↗↗↗
During the 2nd Stage, on the evening of the 26th of September, the Boomboom Family pursues Gyro Zeppeli for a $200,000 bounty offered by Oyecomova. Andre approaches Johnny Joestar and Gyro at their camp, claiming to need fire to treat a venomous lizard bite. He claims that a yellow-and-black spotted salamander bit his left hand while he was relieving himself, and says that he will die before morning without treatment, showing them his swollen hand.↗↗↗↗↗↗
While the family circles the pair, Andre flattens his nostrils and pushes his ears into his ear canals to impress L.A., refusing to explain how he does it. He resents Gyro for hesitating to help him and volunteers to approach their targets. Benjamin calls Andre the family's most talented member as Andre charges forward. Andre boasts that Gyro's Steel Ball cannot reach him and threatens to tear out his organs.↗↗↗↗↗↗↗
Although frightened that he may die, Andre continues supporting the family's pursuit. His condition deteriorates as they watch Tim, Johnny, and Gyro being drawn together. He reports that he feels chills and that his vision has blurred, but Benjamin brushes him off and proceeds with L.A. to continue their attack. Andre does not participate in the remainder of the battle.↗↗↗
After defeating the family, Tim explains that the surviving Boombooms cannot escape the area, have little water remaining, and cannot be located by rescuers, leaving them to die of thirst. An additional scene in the anime shows L.A. calling Andre for backup after he and Benjamin are defeated. Andre rides Foxy Lady toward L.A., but he falls off his horse and succumbs to his wounds.↗↗↗
Later, Funny Valentine names the Boomboom family among the deceased participants he describes as sacrificial lambs for the trials leading to his goal of securing prosperity for the United States.↗↗
