Orobog (オロボグ, Orobogu) lived in Honshu during the Meiji era, around 130 years prior to the production of The Gentleman of the Foreign Residence 's live-action TV drama adaptation. As he was suspected of descending from a family of sorcerers skilled in water magic, he was forbidden from using his hometown's water supply. By some strange coincidence, he was unable to be executed by hanging, so his method of execution was changed to the electric chair.
