02Appearance
Mrs. Robinson is a muscular and androgynous man with long, light-colored hair that fans outward into sharp points. He wears a dark head covering that leaves a crest of hair exposed along the top of his head. His face is characterized by dark lipstick and a large dark marking surrounding his left eye.↗
He wears an open, sleeveless vest decorated with numerous circular studs of varying sizes, leaving most of his chest exposed, along with striped arm coverings, loose pants, and boots. Numerous straps across his clothing and El Condor Pasa 's tack bear the phrase "TRUE LOVE", potentially referencing Simon & Garfunkel 's cover of Scarborough Fair. He also wears clusters of eyeballs attached by strings as earrings.↗
03Personality
Mrs. Robinson is a ruthless and highly competitive participant in the Steel Ball Run. Rather than attempting to defeat other competitors solely through racing, he is willing to seriously injure or kill them to prevent them from getting ahead of him. After revealing the secret behind his attacks, he confidently declares that nobody in the race will be allowed to run ahead of him.↗↗
This desire to remain undefeated is reflected in his determination to eliminate Johnny and Gyro during the race.↗↗
Robinson is confident in his technique and refers to its workings as his "secret." Once Gyro has been placed at a disadvantage, he openly explains how his insects control the surrounding chollas, but immediately intends to kill Gyro now that the method has been revealed. His confidence quickly turns to shock when Gyro discovers that the Spin can exploit the same property of the chollas and turn them against him.↗↗
04Abilities
Insect Manipulation
Mrs. Robinson raises numerous flying insects inside his body, with several shown emerging from his left eye socket. He uses the insects in conjunction with cholla cacti growing throughout the desert. Chollas are capable of releasing their needles in response to nearby disturbances and vibrations in the air. By directing his insects around his opponents, Robinson uses the high-speed pressure generated by their flight to trigger the surrounding chollas and send their needles toward specific targets.↗↗
The technique allows Robinson to attack from a considerable distance and from several directions at once. He demonstrates enough control to graze Gyro's ear, attack Johnny and Gyro from multiple sides, sever Johnny's reins, and repeatedly strike Johnny's face strongly enough to knock him from Slow Dancer. He is also able to target Gyro's arm while he attempts to use his Steel Balls, disrupting his throw.↗↗
Because Robinson himself does not need to approach the chollas he is activating, his opponents initially have difficulty understanding how the plants are being triggered. However, the technique can be turned against him because the chollas respond to other vibrations as well. Gyro eventually uses the vibrations produced by the Spin to trigger the plants surrounding Robinson.↗↗
Horseback Riding
Mrs. Robinson is a capable horse rider. Riding El Condor Pasa, he finishes the 1st Stage of the Steel Ball Run in 18th place and earns four points. During the 2nd Stage, he is able to follow Johnny and Gyro across the Arizona Desert for approximately six hours while maintaining a consistent distance behind them.↗↗↗
05Story
SPOILERS
Background
According to Mrs. Robinson, he grew up in a desert village where disputes could escalate into fights to the death. The defeated person would be chained to a cactus and deliberately left to die. The villagers believed that the cactus would curse the deceased, enslaving them even after death so that they could neither take revenge nor continue bearing a grudge.↗↗
Growing up under these conditions, Robinson developed a special technique so that he would not be controlled by others. In order to ensure that he would not lose to anyone, he began raising insects inside his body and learned to use their flight to manipulate the needle-launching chollas around him.↗↗
Steel Ball Run
Mrs. Robinson enters the Steel Ball Run as jockey number 215, riding the seven-year-old Appaloosa El Condor Pasa. He completes the 1st Stage in 18th place, receiving four points.↗↗
At the beginning of the 2nd Stage, Gyro Zeppeli chooses to leave the main route through the Arizona Desert and head toward an alternate water source, with Johnny Joestar following him. Mrs. Robinson then begins pursuing them through the desert. El Condor Pasa also has a damaged horseshoe, making Robinson a possible suspect in the murder investigation being conducted by Mountain Tim.↗↗
Johnny identifies the plants as chollas and explains that their needles can be released in response to vibrations in the surrounding air. However, neither he nor Gyro can initially determine how Robinson is activating them from such a distance. Robinson continues to follow the pair while attacking them through the plants.↗↗
A concentrated volley of needles strikes Johnny and severs his reins. More needles hit his face, causing him to fall from Slow Dancer. Although Johnny urges Gyro to continue the race without waiting for him, Gyro instead turns toward Robinson and rides directly at him.↗↗
As Gyro closes the distance, Robinson launches further attacks. Needles strike Gyro's arm as he attempts to throw his Steel Balls, disrupting his movement and causing the Balls to fall to the ground. Believing he has gained the advantage, Robinson reveals the insects living inside his body and explains his technique.↗↗
Robinson recounts his upbringing in a desert village and explains that he learned his technique so that he would not be controlled by others. He then reveals that the high-speed flight pressure produced by the insects allows him to trigger the chollas and freely direct their needles toward his targets. Having revealed his secret, Robinson prepares to finish Gyro off and declares that nobody will run ahead of him in the race.↗↗
Mountain Tim later reaches the area and finds the defeated Robinson and his horse. After examining El Condor Pasa's horseshoe, Tim determines that its shape does not match the tracks belonging to the murderer he is pursuing. He nevertheless discovers that the murderer's damaged horseshoe had passed through the area approximately 30 minutes earlier, confirming that the actual culprit is still somewhere ahead in the desert.↗↗
Johnny later recalls Robinson's attack after learning that a bounty has been placed on Gyro and speculates that Robinson may have been attempting to collect the reward.↗↗
