Mr. and Mrs. Nakata

Mr. and Mrs. Nakata (中田さん夫婦, Nakata-san Fūfu) are a couple who eloped following a scandalous double affair, fleeing Tokyo in search of a secluded life together. They headed north to the foothills in a remote area. However, their peaceful escape is short-lived, as rumors about them spread in their new community. In response, the couple buys a large piece of land and start raising dogs. They are the breeders of Police, a dog who later joins the Hirose family. Police recalls Mrs. Nakata fondly in his dreams. When Police was just a plump puppy, she once found him happily sleeping wrapped in freshly washed towels and remarked that he's smiling.
