Background
Born in Mexico, Gaucho eventually joined the Steel Ball Run with his 6-year-old Criollo horse, Peg.↗
Steel Ball Run
He earns the 17th place in the 1st Stage and the 10th place in the 3rd Stage. Some time after the start of the 4th Stage, he gets lost in a forest in Kansas due to Ringo Roadagain 's ability.↗↗
Gaucho shouts at Ringo to leave his cabin, calling him a coward and a liar. After Ringo calmly steps outside and suggests they begin their duel, Gaucho is momentarily surprised but again asks Ringo for the way out. Ringo reaffirms that if Gaucho kills him, he will learn of the "correct path." Gaucho notices that despite Ringo's calm demeanor, his arm is shaking.↗
When Ringo questions Gaucho's conviction to kill, Gaucho fires four times at him, the first shot striking Ringo's shoulder. Ringo retaliates with a shot to Gaucho's chest. He notes that Gaucho's bullets lacked the power to do critical damage due to the distance. As Ringo approaches, Gaucho, bleeding from the mouth, begins screaming at him. Ringo then shoots him again in the chest from a much closer distance. Gaucho lets off an accidental shot into the ground as he dies.↗↗
