Jonathan's grandson, Joseph Joestar (Universe 37) Incarnation of Joseph Joestar in the 37th universe, describes Dio as a piece of scum. Joseph detests Dio so much that he only refers to him as "D", not wanting to say his full name. In 1889, Dio tries robbing a train but Jonathan attempts to stop him. They both end up dying in a train accident.↗↗
